Upcoming Concerts & Performances at the Amalie Arena
As per usual, some very big names in the music business will be strutting out onto the Amalie Arena stage this fall. The rootsy British quartet Mumford & Sons will play a concert September 20—just a couple of days shy of the autumn equinox. On October 7, the actor-comedian Chris Tucker will show off his standup skills—honed over decades at this point—to the Amalie, backed up by radio host, writer, actor, and all-around funnyman D.L. Hughley.
Hard-rock and metal fans, take note: October 15 sees the legendary Scorpions scorch up the Amalie with their Crazy World Tour—supported, mind you, by the equally headbanger-friendly crew Megadeth. The spectacle of an entirely different brand arrives October 19, when pop superstar Bruno Mars brings his 24K Magic World Tour to Tampa.
Down-the-line highlights of the Amalie Arena concert calendar, meanwhile, include guitar god Santana on October 27 and the beloved violinist-showman André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra on November 1.
On-the-Ice Action
For two decades now, the Amalie Arena has also been the headquarters for the Tampa Bay Lightning, our very own National Hockey League team, and catching one of their home games is always a thrill.
The Lightning hosts the Nashville Predators (September 22) and the Florida Panthers (September 24) for the preseason; upcoming regular-season matchups on the Amalie Arena rink include the Panthers on October 6, the Washington Capitals on October 9, the Pittsburgh Penguins on October 12, and the St. Louis Blues on October 14.
