Now a decade old, Cigar City Brewing offers an awesome roster of craft beers, including a stable of sudsy staples available year-round: from the Jai Alai India Pale Ale (named for Basque sport once played in Tampa) and the highly session-able Tampa-Style Lager to the robust Maduro Brown Ale (ideal for cigar-pairings) and the crisp Florida Cracker Belgian-Style White Ale.

And then there are the seasonal, special, and experimental releases Cigar City offers at any given time. Perhaps the brewery’s most legendary product is its Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout, whose moniker pays tribute to a Mayan deity and whose luxurious dessert-worthy flavor has won it many breathless fans. Cigar City only brews this Imperial Stout once a year, and you can only get your hands on it at Hunahpu’s Day, a March tradition that’s grown into quite the local beer festival.

Hunahpu’s Day is only the most prominent of a host of shindigs Cigar City Brewing puts on regularly, so keep a close eye on the establishment’s calendar of events and plan accordingly.

The Cigar City Brewing Tasting Room is open seven days a week, with the same generous and easy-to-remember hours each and every day: 11 AM to 11 PM. Swing by for a pint or sampler array, or pick up bottles or cans to go. You don’t need to enjoy those top-caliber beers on an empty stomach, either: Local food trucks serve at the Tasting Room on a daily basis.
